Helen joined Scotinform in 2016, having worked as an associate and collaborator for ten years previously, and has been a Director of the company since 2018. Her background in business consultancy in the tourism, hospitality and cultural sectors adds significant value to Scotinform and our clients.

Helen is always looking to add value to the research findings generated by Scotinform, and is somewhat notorious in the office for asking “so what?” Her skill lies in understanding how the findings can be used to inform decision-making for the client, whether that relates to strategic development, business planning, marketing or evaluation.

Outside of work, Helen can often be found swimming in the bracing waters of the Firth of Forth and then coming to her senses with a cup of coffee (Helen is Scotinform’s coffee aficionado!). Helen also takes great pleasure and commitment to her volunteering roles as Board Member at Leith Theatre and Chair of her local primary school’s Parent Council. Beyond this she enjoys theatre, reading, and spending time with her family and their dog, Pickle.

Helen holds a First Class (hons) Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Edinburgh and the Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research with distinction. She is a member of the Market Research Society and the Social Research Association.
