National Museums Scotland

Scotinform has a long-standing relationship with National Museums Scotland which has provided us with the opportunity to work closely with the Visitor Studies Officer and Marketing teams to deliver meaningful research findings.

On behalf of National Museums Scotland we have:

- Facilitated mini groups with visitors to NMS sites to assess overall satisfaction with their visitor experience and provide feedback on the content and presentation of specific exhibitions/galleries

- Conducted observation to identify how visitors engage with exhibitions and prototypes of potential museum exhibits

- Prepared self-completion questionnaires for distribution to visitors to assess awareness of marketing and satisfaction with overall visitor experience

We have had the pleasure of being involved in the evaluation of the following exhibitions on behalf of National Museums Scotland:

In 2009, Scotinform was commissioned by the National Museums Scotland’s marketing team to undertake its annual research programme. We have worked closely with front-of-house staff at each of the NMS sites to provide robust visitor data which is reported on a quarterly basis.

We really enjoy working with Scotinform. They are different from other research consultants because it feels like they are part of the NMS team, working with us not for us. This relationship reflects positively on the research process and project outcomes.
